The Beginning of the End

Freshman year has finally wrapped up at Northwestern University and I’m about to head into my final two weeks as America’s Junior Miss.
I got home from school with a car packed full of everything I own late on Wednesday night. Since then, every spare moment has been spent preparing for nationals. Yesterday I went shopping with my wonderful state chair, Buddy. We picked up a lot of odds and ends for the two weeks, as well as filling out my performance wardrobe. I’ve spent this rainy Friday packing and learning routines and practicing my songs working on name pronunciations and rehearsing speeches. The two weeks coming up are looking to be an absolute blast.
The year has been every kind of incredible, and I can’t wait to finish it out with all the thrill it’s held from Day 1.

  1. I loved spending this year with Michelle at Northwestern! You are so down-to-earth, accepting, humble, fun, energetic, passionate, real, understanding, creative, zany...everything a JR. Miss should be. I'm so happy the judges picked you to represent Jr. Miss because you are not afraid to be authentically Michelle. And you are not afraid to "not" be the cookie cutter, perfect hair, perfect at everything girl that seems to win everything. You are just Michelle who never sleeps, likes camping, doesn't love washing her hair, and enjoys late night adventures!
